METAPYSICALLY  SPEAKING

The symptoms we experience in our dis-ease can tell us much about our emotional, mental, and spiritual states that may have helped the imbalance to manifest.

Most symptoms have a physical cause that must be determined.   It is not enough to simply take a pill and fix the problem that way.  We must also look to the metaphysical cause that manifested the problem to begin with.  We must look to the emotional, mental and spiritual conditions that helped in allowing this physical condition to manifest.

It is essential that we listen to the deeper meaning of illnesses.  We need to ask some question. What does this illness mean to me? What can I learn from this illness?  It can also be a message from your body telling you something is wrong, you are not listening to your self. What is it?  Again, the source of the illness needs to worked out either in a psychological or feeling level. It can be on an understanding level or on an unconscious level.

Without personal work and change you will eventually create another problem to lead you back to the source of the problem that caused the dis-ease in the first place.

This personal work will lead us to a deeper part of ourselves.

Here is a list of things, see if they trigger any specific insights into your own unique situation:
FATIGUE: Fatigue is simply telling us we are tired.  It can reflect not only our physical being but also a "tired of life" attitude, or being tired of something, like our job, your partner, family stress.  Are we taking enough time to play? Is there a lack of love for the activities you do?
PAIN: Pain can be hard to pinpoint but can reflect feelings of guilt, nursing old hurts, overly critical attitude to ourselves and/or others, longings, resistance to movement and changes, and feelings of lack of freedom.
SWELLING: Swelling may indicate a clogged attitude or process of life.  Those who are stuck in an old pattern and ideas often have repeated swelling problems.  It may also surround self esteem issues such as our personal growth. Are we missing opportunities to grow therefore clogging our insides?  It can also indicate we are too emotional instead of using our common sense and practical thinking.  We may be protruding into other's lives or places we should not be.
HEART: The heart is the primary organ of the circulatory system, the seat of life and the soul, the center of healing and loving.   The heart reflects problems with the way we handle and experience love and emotions, both in giving and receiving. It can have to do with being hardened to some one, or constricting our love or others constricting theirs, always showing love even to those who do not appreciate it or acknowledge it, always sacrificing ourselves for others and having an unhealthy concept of martyrdom in your life.
Two books I highly recommend for further reading are Hands of Light by Barbara Ann Brennan and The Healer's Manual by Ted Andrews.  Both these are listed on my links & books page.
